Another busy week here in Copenhagen! School has become much more intense as we are in class for five hours a day, and then there's lots of homework on top of that. This week in class, we visited the Danish Ministry of Finance. One of their employees gave us a presentation on what it is like to be a professional economist. We also learned all about the Danish economy and why it is so different than America.

Over the weekend, we had our study tour to Western Denmark and the island of Samso. On the way to our hostel in Western Denmark we visited the Moesgaard Museum, which is a viking museum with special exhibits about the Day of the Dead and People of the Past. The entire museum is built on a hill, so the roof is slanted and allows for a great view! After the museum, we traveled to our beautiful hostel where we were able to canoe before we went to sleep for the night.

The next day, we traveled by ferry to the small island of Samso, which has a population of about 4,000 people. This island is incredibly interesting because it uses 100% renewable energy and has a goal of becoming 100% fossil fuel free by 2030! We learned all about the countries environmental success and finished the day by visiting the wind turbines and an energy plant.

Be sure to check out the travel page, as I've posted pictures of the notable places in Copenhagen that I have visited. Also, the food page has been updated!
